  1.      In any system, several points may exist where 
  2. the electric potential is the same. Lines connecting 
  3. these points are called equipotential lines if the 
  4. electric potential along these lines is constant. In this 
  5. case no work is done in moving a charge along these 
  6. lines. Moving from one line to another involves a 
  7. potential difference that is a constant for a path 
  8. joining any point on the first line to any point on 
  9. the second line. In other words, the work done and 
  10. change in potential are independent of path.
